The digestive system is busy.. not only does it take in food, absorbs nutrients, maintains fluid and electrolyte balance but it gets rid of waste aka makes poop! All things that are greatly appreciated. Of course though, we are not the only species that has such a complete and lovely system.

Are amazing pet family members also have these magical digestive systems keeping them healthy and clean. Again, greatly appreciated. However there is an unfortunate side… they don’t typically use restrooms. And although nature dictates that animals typically restroom outside its important in our domesticated lives, we take great care of Mother Earth not only for ourselves but our pet family too.

So since pet waste contains pathogenic bacteria and parasites that can affect human health we’ve gotta be careful. When pet waste is washed into our waterways it decays in the water, which impacts oxygen levels that can so be harmful to fish and other aquatic wildlife.
